Last week we learned about the American tradition of Thanksgiving; which usually takes place on the last Thursday of November. This year it landed on November 28. Brief history: Pilgrims from England fled to American on the May Flower. They were facing religious persecution and were looking a for a new life. They traveled 9 months on sea.
When they arrived they met Native Americans. The natives taught them how to grow food and therefore shared their meals with them. The natives and pilgrims lived peacefuly for a short period of time.
Every year Americans sit down and share a meal with their family and give thanks for all they have. Just like the pilgrims were when the natives taught them how to survive on their new land.
This year we had another fangtastic year celebrating Halloween! Take a look at our boo-tiful students and teachers dresssing up in some killer costumes.
